This course includes online and clinical components covering barrier techniques, limiting contamination, hand washing, handling of sharps, sterilization, disinfection, and disposal of waste materials.

This course covers the Introduction to Dental Assisting in 302.06. It prepares dental assistants to perform a preliminary oral inspection and includes online and clinical components covering medical/dental histories, vital sign readings, basic oral anatomy and terminology, and dental charting.

This hands-on course qualifies the orthodontic dental assistant to perform those expanded orthodontic duties designated by the N.H. Board of Dental Examiners.

Online lectures and learning activities are coordinated with lab practice to develop dental radiographic techniques, including digital radiography and processing, mounting, and evaluating films. Emphasis is placed on client and operator protection, exposure and processing errors, asepsis protocol, radiographic techniques, and equipment function. Following this course, participants are required to pass the RHS portion of DANB exam, according to N.H. law.

This course meets the requirements established by the N.H. Board of Dental Examiners for dental assistants and dental hygienists. Topics include prescription/non-prescription products and safety considerations.

This course covers the 21st century approach to treating dental caries. It reviews the science (chemistry and biology) for dental materials and medicinal agents used in these treatments, the "how-to" for clinical protocols, and educational approaches to informing/educating patients and caregivers about advanced clinical protocols. It is designed for all dental providers but primarily targets auxiliary staff.

The course includes lecture and clinical sessions that provide an in-depth study of dental sealants. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, the participant will be qualified to legally apply sealants in N.H. – taking the didactic, placing sealants on extracted teeth and models, and placing sealants under the supervision of a dentist.

Participants will learn indications and contraindications to sealants and ITR placement and will place glass ionomer pit and fissure sealants, as well as practice ITR placement on teeth. Evidence supporting this technique will be presented.

This course provides infection control guidelines and recommendations for the dental office and is based on the CDC infection and prevention guidelines. It includes information on disinfection and sterilization, products, and asepsis protocols. This course fulfills the N.H. dental infection control requirements for certification and license renewal.

This course prepares dental assistants and hygienists to monitor nitrous oxide use during dental procedures. Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will meet the qualifications stipulated by the N.H. Board of Dental Examiners.

This Microcredential training is designed for dental assistants already working in dental practices with 400 hours of chairside experience but little or no formal training. The Microcredential includes 5 trainings that can be completed in 11 weeks and prepares dental assistants for the Radiology Health and Safety exam. Participants will be committed to classes from September 24 through December 9, 2022. Online and hands-on clinical training are featured along with professional skills development plus career pathway and exam preparation training. Digital badging will provide proof of learning outcomes and competencies.
