Hi Alex W ,

First, my pleasure to assist you.

As per your description, please don't worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

Per your error message, according to this Microsoft articleMicrosoft Doc explaining it is a time zone issue,

As you mentioned, " I have also verified whether the user has the correct time zone set on their PC, and the time zone information is correct " could you please try to check the time zone on your Office 365 portal and Team site to see if it is the same as the time zone on your PC. To check it:

In the Office 365 portal: Log into Office 365 portal >Click the gear on the upper right corner>Language and time zone.

Also, please try to change to another network environment to check the outcome.

Meanwhile, could you please confirm whether users could create a document using Word Online within Team.

I appreciate your understanding and stay safe!!

Best regards

Waqas Muhammad

I'm seeing this issue as well. IP address enforcement is set to false and time zone settings are correct.

We are having the same problem here. All time zones have been checked and they are all consistent and correct. IPAddressEnforcement is set to false. We have no conditional access policies setup. I have checked all of the settings in the Sharepoint admin site and those policies are all off as well.

We Teams is open and we pinned an Excel document to a tab and every hour we get the session timeout warning. It is something new because we have been doing this for nearly a year without issue and now the last month it has been a problem. It is not just one user or group. I have tested from different Teams and channels with the same result.

Good afternoon,

I was hoping to get some advice on the following issue. We have a number of colleagues that reported the following issue when editing a document inside Teams:
Image

I checked if IPAddressEnforcement is set to True in our tenant, but it is actually set to False, so I do not believe IPAddressWACTokenLifetime should be enforced here.

I have also verified whether the user has the correct timezone set on their PC, and the timezone information is correct.

What could potentially be an issue for some of our users getting this error?

Many thanks,

Alex

This setting is handled by your administrators in the M365 Admin Center. Have them go to:
Home - Microsoft 365 admin center under Org Settings --> Security & Privacy --> Idle Session Timeout

Same thing here. In the SharePoint admin center under Policies > Access Control there is an option to set the Idle session time out but this appears to only apply to unmanaged devices. In my case the user is seeing this error when using a managed device.

This is on our M365 Roadmap and glad you already see it in your tenant. If you enable this capability, you can extend that timeout period which will supersede any timeout settings in OWA & SPO.

Our devices are also managed by Intune.

I enabled the setting is Sharepoint and set it to 24hrs to see if it has any affect.

I enabled the Sharepoint last Friday and it has had no affect on my problem. If I leave a document open in Teams and 1 hour passes I get the session timeout error.

I'm having the same issue as well, checked my SharePoint and the option for idle timeout is not selected.

Any ideas?
